Domestic Disturbance Leads to Battery Arrest

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Huntsville, Alabama, man was arrested after police said a domestic disturbance on Monday in Jonesboro left a person injured.

Christopher Linzell McCrary, 41, was arrested after Jonesboro officers responded on June 30 to the 3300 block of Kingsbury Street, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Officers arrived and found a person bleeding from the leg and hand. The affidavit states the victim, who uses a wheelchair, told police McCrary had ripped her from the wheelchair during the incident.

A juvenile witness told police she got a knife for protection during the disturbance and put the car keys under her legs while sitting in the wheelchair. The affidavit states McCrary tried to forcibly remove the keys, causing the victim to be cut on the leg and hand while the knife was present.

The juvenile witness also told police she hid in a bathroom during the incident and said McCrary beat on the door and threatened her, according to the affidavit.

McCrary fled before officers arrived but was contacted a short time later, police said.

He was arrested for second-degree domestic battery causing injury with a deadly weapon, misdemeanor assault and terroristic threatening. His next court date was set for Aug. 21.

Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety, with a no-contact order and GPS monitor ordered. Judge Tommy Fowler noted active warrants in Alabama and Tennessee, a long criminal history involving domestic cases and failures to appear.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
