JONESBORO, Ark. — A crash Tuesday morning at Highland Drive and Red Wolf Boulevard caused significant electrical damage at the intersection and knocked out power for about 800 City Water and Light customers.
The crash happened around 6:30 a.m., according to information from the city of Jonesboro.
Brian Richardson with the city said engineering crews continued working on the intersection Tuesday after the auto accident damaged electrical equipment tied to the traffic signal system.
Crews have since made progress and restored power to the intersection. The traffic lights were also restored to operation on a preset timing cycle.
Work is expected to continue Wednesday as crews adjust the timing for traffic efficiency based on traffic patterns at the intersection.
The city is encouraging drivers to use patience while traveling through the area.
