Craighead County, AR — Effective immediately, Craighead County Judge Marvin Day has lifted the burn ban previously enacted on January 15th. Due to the recent rainfall, conditions have improved, reducing the risk of fires and making it safe to resume controlled outdoor burning.
While the burn ban has been lifted, Craighead County fire chiefs and emergency personnel continue to urge residents to exercise caution when conducting any outdoor burning. Citizens are reminded to follow all applicable state and local laws regarding burning activities.
We appreciate the cooperation of our residents during the burn ban. “The recent rainfall has made conditions safer, but we still encourage everyone to be vigilant and practice responsible burning to prevent any incidents.”
Residents should ensure fires are attended to at all times, have water or fire-extinguishing tools on hand, and avoid burning on windy days. It’s also important to check for any additional regulations or restrictions that may apply within their local jurisdiction.
For more information or guidance on safe burning practices, contact your local fire department/district.
