Littering Leads to Meth Arrest after Traffic Stop in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – A man ended up arrested on felony drug charges after he flicked a cigarette out of the car while driving by a police officer in Jonesboro.

It happened around 9:46 PM on March 17 near E. Johnson Avenue and Red Wolf Boulevard in Jonesboro, the incident report stated. Officer Zachary Hobbs was on patrol when the driver of a silver Nissan traveling in front of him flicked a cigarette out, which almost hit the police car. The officer conducted a traffic stop and found more than cigarettes.

Inside of the vehicle, the officer found various items of drug paraphernalia and use. The officer found a glass pipe and rubber tube with meth residue, a needle loaded with a liquid that tested positive for meth, a plastic meth bong, 20 ml of suspected meth in a loaded needle, burned meth on the bottom of a hairspray can, and some marijuana.

Charles Gross, 44, of Jonesboro, was arrested on felony and misdemeanor drug charges, as well as for littering and driving on a suspended license.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
