PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould man faces six charges after police said he threatened neighbors and officers, resisted arrest, head-butted one officer and kicked another before methamphetamine was found during booking.
Jason William Davidson faces the following charges:
- Three counts of first-degree terroristic threatening, Class D felonies
- Possession of a controlled substance, a Class D felony
- Resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor
- Public intoxication, a Class C misdemeanor
Police responded around 9:15 p.m. July 22 to the Royal Street area following multiple reports of a disorderly man who appeared to be under the influence.
The man was allegedly threatening neighbors, running toward vehicles and throwing objects. Officers contacted him, but he immediately went inside his residence, according to the probable cause affidavit.
Around 10:27 p.m., officers recognized the same person walking near the B Street Apartments. Police identified him as Davidson.
Davidson was sweating profusely, appeared irate and began screaming at officers, according to the affidavit. Police also reported smelling a strong odor of intoxicants and moved to arrest him for public intoxication.
Davidson allegedly fled up a staircase, pulled away from officers and backed onto a deck. He continued struggling and told officers, “I’ll beat the fuck out of all of you,” before they placed him in handcuffs.
Police said Davidson continued behaving violently while an officer attempted to search him. As officers escorted him toward a patrol vehicle, Davidson allegedly head-butted one officer and kicked another in the leg.
Davidson was taken to a hospital and cleared as fit for incarceration. As officers left the hospital, Davidson allegedly said, “I’m gonna take all y’all lives.”
He then threatened that “three six mafia” would take the lives of the three officers at the scene, according to the affidavit.
During booking at the jail, officers allegedly found Davidson in possession of less than 2 grams of methamphetamine. Police said his threats of injury and death continued toward jail staff.
District Judge Curtis Hitt found probable cause and set Davidson’s bond at $250,000 surety.
If released, Davidson must wear an ankle monitor, have no contact with the victims or witnesses, and possess no weapons.
Davidson is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
