BONO, Ark. — A 22-year-old woman was killed and a Monette man was injured Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 63 and Arkansas Highway 230.
Abigale Rory Dullenty of Russellville was killed in the crash, according to a preliminary fatal crash summary from Arkansas State Police.
The crash happened at approximately 9:30 a.m. July 25.
Police said Dullenty was driving a 2011 Ford Focus east on Highway 230 and approaching its intersection with U.S. 63. The Focus failed to yield at a posted stop sign and entered the highway, according to the preliminary report.
A northbound 2024 GMC Sierra driven by Dawson Kane Stewart, 21, of Monette struck the Focus in the outside northbound lane.
The impact sent both vehicles off the roadway and into a field northeast of the intersection, police said.
Dullenty was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body was taken to the Craighead County Coroner’s Office.
Stewart was injured and taken to St. Bernards Medical Center. The report did not describe the extent of his injuries.
Police reported partly cloudy weather and clear road conditions at the time of the crash.
Arkansas State Police Trooper Daniel C. Willey investigated the crash. The findings in the fatal crash summary are preliminary.
