PARAGOULD, Ark. – A Paragould woman finds herself facing felony charges after an incident where she was accused of being drunk, with meth, and threatening to kill someone with a knife.

The probable cause affidavit, released today, details the incident on December 21. Paragould Police were dispatched to a residence on North 6 & 1/2 Street in reference to a female being out of control and threatening to kill someone with a knife. Officers met with two people who told police about the alleged death threats. They also said the suspect had gone toward one of them with the knife in a threatening manner.

Officers made contact with the suspect and noted that she was “talking erratic” and “could not focus.” A second officer noted she admitted to drinking alcohol as she was scattered, speaking incoherently.

Officers also noticed “exaggerated movements” and the suspect “could not stand still.”

As authorities were conducting their investigation, the suspect exited the residence multiple times when being instructed not to. She was placed under arrest at that point for public intoxication.

While conducting a search, officers found a Ziplock bag containing about 0.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

Not long after that discovery, a third witness made contact with police and advised the suspect had threatened to cut their throat while pulling out a black knife.

Linda King, of Paragould, was arrested on felony charges including aggravated assault, terroristic threatening, and possession of a controlled substance. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of public intoxication.

Greene County District Judge Dan Stidham found probable cause to charge King with the crimes listed above. The judge set her bond at $10,000 cash only with a no contact order as well as an order to not possess any weapons.
