JONESBORO, Ark. – Vehicle thefts remain a growing concern for residents, with several new incidents reported over the recent weekend, including another theft from a car dealership.
On Saturday morning, Jonesboro police responded to a theft report at the Links Apartments. A white 2016 Chrysler 300 had gone missing the previous night. Fortunately, the vehicle was found later in the day, undamaged, at the intersection of Stadium and Caraway Road.
The issue seems to be escalating as even car dealerships are not spared. Recar of Jonesboro, located at 6614 Stadium Boulevard, reported the theft of a black 2016 Dodge Charger Hellcat around 4:30 AM on Saturday. The vehicle was later recovered by the Memphis Police Department, as updated in a report on Monday.
In a separate incident, two juvenile suspects found themselves in custody after they were caught in possession of a stolen vehicle. Near the intersection of East Highland and South Caraway at around 6 PM, officers recovered a white 2015 Kia Optima in good condition. The two black male suspects, aged 16 and 17, were arrested. During the arrest, police inventory revealed the presence of at least two Xbox consoles and various other items.
The series of incidents over the weekend underscore the importance of vigilance and security for vehicle owners in Jonesboro. Residents are encouraged to take necessary precautions and promptly report any suspicious activity to authorities.
