Aggravated Assault Charge Filed After Reported Choking in Paragould

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould resident was arrested after police said a family or household member reported being choked during a June disturbance.

Timothy Dale Dillard Jr., 45, of Paragould, was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault on a family or household member, a Class D felony.

Police responded June 20 to the 800 block of West Park Street for reports of a disturbance that had already occurred, according to a probable cause affidavit. The victim told police Dillard, identified in the affidavit as the victim’s husband, wrapped his hands around the victim’s neck, making the victim unable to breathe.

The victim provided photos showing red marks on the neck consistent with being choked, and police also observed red marks still on the victim’s neck, the affidavit states.

Bond was set at $75,000 cash or surety. Court documents also ordered Dillard to have no contact with the victim and to possess no weapons.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
