Five Arrested in Jonesboro Narcotics Investigation; Main Suspect Previously Convicted of Manslaughter

JONESBORO, Ark. — A man previously convicted of manslaughter was arrested again after drug task force agents said a months-long narcotics investigation led to a search warrant at a Jonesboro residence.

Brandon L. Williams was identified in probable cause affidavits as the main suspect in an investigation tied to 1823 Cedar Heights Drive. Agents with the 2nd DTF alleged Williams was acting in concert with at least five others to sell multiple types of narcotics from the residence.

Williams was previously convicted of Class C felony manslaughter in 2016, according to one affidavit.

The investigation included a controlled buy in May, according to a separate affidavit. A confidential informant allegedly bought marijuana from Williams after meeting him behind the Cedar Heights Drive residence. A bench warrant signed by Judge Chris Thyer listed Williams for delivery of a Schedule VI controlled substance, a Class D felony.

On July 1, agents executed a search warrant at the residence. According to the affidavit, agents saw Williams exit the front door, walk back inside, and then leave through the back door as agents arrived.

Agents reported finding six small children asleep inside the residence. A search of the downstairs area allegedly yielded a loaded Glock 17 reported stolen out of Trumann, marijuana packaged for sale, boxes of plastic bags, and a large bag with marijuana residue. Upstairs, agents reported finding a loaded Glock 43X, Oxycodone pills packaged for sale, additional marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.

Williams was arrested for simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, a Class Y felony; continuing criminal enterprise, a Class Y felony; offenses relating to records and maintaining premises, a Class B felony; possession of a firearm by certain persons, a Class B felony; possession of Schedule II with purpose to deliver, a Class C felony; first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, a Class D felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony; theft by receiving a firearm valued at less than $2,500, a Class D felony; and misdemeanor possession of Schedule VI with purpose to deliver.

Judge Tommy Fowler set Williams’ bond at $250,000 cash only.

Other Arrests

Dadarius Daquin Anderson was arrested for continuing criminal enterprise, a Class Y felony; offenses relating to records and maintaining premises, a Class B felony; theft by receiving a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, all Class D felonies; and misdemeanor possession of Schedule VI with purpose to deliver. His bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety by Judge Fowler.

 

Derrick Brown was arrested for continuing criminal enterprise, a Class Y felony; possession of Schedule VI with purpose to deliver, a Class D felony; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony. Agents alleged Brown was present almost daily at the Cedar Heights Drive residence and later found 47.6 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and other items at his residence. His bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety.

Dequantel Evans was arrested for continuing criminal enterprise, a Class Y felony. Agents alleged he was present almost daily and acted as a lookout when agents arrived to execute the search warrant. Agents also alleged he had a handgun on him. His bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety.

Willie Lee Evans was arrested for continuing criminal enterprise, a Class Y felony. Agents alleged he was also present almost daily and acted as a lookout as agents arrived. His bond was set at $150,000 cash or surety.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
