LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Whether they prefer draw games or scratch-off tickets, Arkansas lottery players continue to win big this summer.
A winning Powerball® ticket worth $50,000 was sold at Jordan’s Kwik Stop 9, 900 E. Jackson in Harrisburg for the July 4 drawing. The winning numbers were 17, 38, 46, 50 and 69. The Powerball number was 20, and the Power Play® multiplier was 2.
This ticket is currently unclaimed. The winner has 180 days from the draw date to claim their prize.
The Powerball jackpot is $416 million for tonight’s drawing.
For another lucky player, winning big is a couple’s event.
W. Lynch, a Dardanelle resident, won $75,000 playing Mega Cash Crossword, a $3 instant game. He claimed his prize at the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery Claim Center on June 29.
Lynch bought the winning ticket at Smokers Discount, located at 418 Union St. in Dardanelle, as part of his daily lottery playing routine. Because he loves puzzle games, he was drawn to the crossword-inspired Mega Cash Crossword instant ticket. He later scratched his ticket at home while his wife sat nearby.
“I’m always next to him when he plays,” Lynch’s wife told lottery officials.
Perhaps the arrangement brought Lynch some good luck; as he scratched, he discovered that his ticket held a $75,000 top prize.
“You play, thinking you’ll win maybe $30, and then all of a sudden, whoa! This one’s different!” Lynch told lottery officials.
In disbelief, he showed his wife the winning ticket.
“I was too shocked to think,” she said. “It took me a minute.”
The couple checked and rechecked the ticket a few times before they could believe the good news. The rest of their family was just as surprised, but Lynch’s son especially felt the win was well deserved.
One $75,000 top prize remains on Mega Cash Crossword.
