JONESBORO – A Jonesboro resident has been charged with residential burglary and kidnapping following an early morning incident at his ex-spouse’s home, from which he had previously been banned.

The event unfolded around 4:05 AM on August 13 at a residence on the 300-block of Melrose Street. Jonesboro police officers were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call about an individual refusing to depart from the property. The subsequent report indicates that Michael Deshone Brown, 48, entered his ex-spouse’s residence without permission and prevented her from leaving.

Though the report does not specify the duration of the ordeal, it mentions that law enforcement had to resort to ramming the front door to gain access to the residence.

Brown is now in custody facing serious felony charges, including residential burglary and kidnapping.
