Walnut Ridge mayor issues statement on railroad worker case

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. – The disturbing video showing a former Walnut Ridge officer roughing up a railroad worker from 2016 which just surfaced this week has elicited comment from the chief executive of the city.

“We are forwarding the information the City of Walnut Ridge has for the Finley vs Walnut Ridge suit to the Arkansas Municipal League,” said Walnut Ridge Mayor Charles Snapp in a statement Wednesday to the press. “To date we have not met with the attorney assigned the case. Until we have met with council, the City will not make any statements, other than to confirm that the officer in the December 2016 video resigned his employment with the City of Walnut Ridge in February of 2017.”
