Greene County Man Accused of Rape Involving Juvenile Victim

PARAGOULD, Ark. – A man is accused of rape in Greene County, according to a probable cause affidavit released by the sheriff’s department.

Nolan Lynn Decker, 20, of Paragould, faces three charges of rape – each a class Y felony. These are the most serious crimes in Arkansas that are not punishable by death, and carry a minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of 40 years or life in prison.

The affidavit alleges that a report was received by the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline in reference to a pregnant 14-year old on February 17, 2024.

On March 21, the minor female was interviewed by Crimes Against Children Division Investigator Jamie Moore. During the interview, the affidavit says the victim provided details about multiple sexual acts that would constitute rape, due to her age.

The victim named Decker as the perpetrator of those sexual acts. The victim also said Decker was the father of her newborn son.

On Thursday, Judge Dan Stidham found probable cause to hold Decker in connection with the case. Stidham set his bond at $50,000 cash only with the condition that the defendant have “absolutely no contact” with the alleged victim or others involved in the case.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
