Pocahontas Police Make Arrest in Burglary; Residents Urged to Check Property

POCAHONTAS, Ark. — Authorities in Randolph County stopped a break-in and arrested a suspect Wednesday but they’re urging residents to check their vehicles and property in case there are more victims.

On April 24, 2024, the Pocahontas Police Department responded to a report of a residential burglary in the Windwood addition area, a press release from the city said. Law enforcement managed to apprehend the suspect rather quickly, apparently. The suspect is currently being held in the Randolph County Jail pending bond arrangements.

The only person showing as being arrested for burglary and breaking or entering on April 24 on the Randolph County Jail roster.

According to authorities, video surveillance footage suggests that only one suspect was involved in the burglary. As a result, law enforcement assures the residents that there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding area.

In response to the incident, residents residing in the affected area are urged to inspect their vehicles and personal property for any signs of tampering or theft. The Pocahontas Police Department continues to investigate the matter, and no further details have been released at this time.
