Man convicted in Poinsett County for manslaughter

TRUMANN, Ark. – A Poinsett County jury convicted a man of manslaughter Wednesday.  The jury convicted Charles Davis, 60, of Harrisburg, of manslaughter by in the shooting death of Jeff Foster of the Pitts Community of Poinsett County.  Judge Barbara Halsey followed the jury’s recommendation and sentenced Davis to ten [read more…]

Suspected bank robber arrested by TPD

TRUMANN, Ark. – The man police said was behind an August 31 bank robbery in Trumann is behind bar. On Friday, Nov. 11, Trumann Police Department took Willie Ray Jones, Jr., 49, of Trumann into custody without incident in the city limits.

Burglars hit Trumann Drug Store

TRUMANN, Ark. – A local drug store was hit by criminals over the weekend, sometime. Monday morning, Trumann Police Department discovered the Trumann Drug Store, 213 Highway 463, had been burglarized. Trumann residents pass sales tax

TRUMANN, Ark. – In a close vote, the one percent sales tax effort in Trumann passed Tuesday night. 376 for, 312 against, was the preliminary final tally in the election, according to Poinsett County Clerk Teresa Rouse’s office.
