JONESBORO, Ark. — A woman faces a Class A felony after a Craighead County sheriff’s deputy reported finding more than 50 grams of suspected methamphetamine during a probation search at a motel.
Summer Nicole Moody, 27, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with the purpose to deliver between 10 and 200 grams, a Class A felony; possession of felony drug paraphernalia, a Class D felony; and misdemeanor possession of an instrument of crime.
According to a probable cause affidavit, a deputy received information on June 12 that Moody was staying at the Deluxe Inn motel and might be selling methamphetamine.
The deputy learned Moody was on probation with a search waiver on file and went to the motel to conduct a probation search. Moody was found inside the room with another person, the affidavit states.
During the search, the deputy reported finding digital scales and several clear plastic bags on a nightstand. Under a mattress, the deputy allegedly found a clear bag containing a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and a glass pipe.
Another bag containing a crystal-like substance was allegedly found inside a nightstand drawer. The deputy reported finding 13 individually packaged bags containing suspected methamphetamine inside that bag.
When asked whether all the contraband belonged to her, Moody allegedly said it did, according to the affidavit.
Authorities reported that the suspected methamphetamine beneath the mattress weighed 4.7 grams, while the substance found in the nightstand weighed 49.6 grams — a combined weight of 54.3 grams.
Moody was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center.
Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety. During her court appearance, the judge noted that Moody could be a candidate for drug court.
Her next court appearance is scheduled for July 30.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
