Employee Under Investigation for Alleged Felony Theft at Jonesboro Factory

JONESBORO, Ark. – An internal investigation at SMA, Inc., located at 1 Walter Kratz Drive in Jonesboro, has brought to light an alleged theft of company property by a factory employee, prompting an ongoing criminal investigation.

The incident, spanning from as early as September 26 to November 10, was reported to the Jonesboro Police Department. The 28-year-old male suspect is accused of stealing various items, including LED work lights, a Titan impact socket set, a car jump set, Milton battery testers, and additional inventory from the company.

The aggregate value of the stolen goods surpasses $1,000, elevating the offense to a Class D felony under Arkansas law. Class D felonies in the state carry a potential sentence of up to 6 years in prison and a maximum fine of $10,000.

As of the latest report update, no arrests have been made, and the incident remains under investigation.
