Memphis Man Arrested in Jonesboro for Stolen Vehicle

JONESBORO, Ark. – A Memphis man was arrested in Jonesboro this week after being found with a stolen vehicle.

The incident took place on Monday morning, October 23, in the 3300-block of Sun Avenue. Around 10 AM, the police responded to a call indicating that a stolen vehicle was being tracked in the area. They located and recovered a blue 2018 Kia Optima with Arizona tags, which had damage to the rear driver-side fender, front passenger-side fender, and damage to the steering wheel column.

Amareon M. Hughes, an 18-year-old from Memphis, was arrested at a residence at approximately 10:54 AM. He faces a felony charge for theft by receiving, greater than $5,000 but less than $25,000.

Hughes was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center with a bond set at $35,000, where he remains as of this publication.
