
JONESBORO, Ark. – A local woman is facing a felony charge after she allegedly damaged a vehicle by busting out the front windshield and throwing paint all over it.
The incident occurred around 10:50 p.m. on August 21 at the 3200-block of South Caraway Road. According to the police report, Tailah Verline Williams, 20, caused significant damage to a 2021 White Hyundai SUV. The vehicle was reported to have its front windshield busted and paint thrown on the driver door, driver front fender, hood, and roof.
Most details in the report are masked, and it doesn’t indicate a relationship between the suspect and the victim, leaving the motive unclear.
However, the results were clear. With damage to the property exceeding $1,000, police determined that a felony criminal mischief charge was warranted. Williams was arrested and booked into Craighead County Detention Center.
First-degree criminal mischief is a class D felony if the amount of damage is $1,000 but less than $5,000. This charge carries a maximum sentence of six years in prison.
