
JONESBORO, Ark. – A routine traffic stop in Jonesboro on Monday led to an arrest on allegations of multiple drug dealing charges.
The incident occurred at 12:51 PM at the intersection of East Matthews and S. Caraway Road. Jonesboro Police Officer Faith Kelemen initiated a traffic stop for a vehicle displaying unconfirmed insurance. The driver of the vehicle was not arrested during the incident. However, the situation escalated when attention turned to the passenger.
According to the police report, authorities discovered narcotics on the passenger and in the vehicle. Police inventoried 6.2 ounces of marijuana, 1.5 grams of crystallized rock, 0.6 grams of white powder crack, 15 suspected ecstasy pills, and other pills and items. The passenger also allegedly gave false information about his identity, resisted arrest, and had outstanding warrants.
The passenger, identified as 24-year-old Tony Christopher Daniels, was subsequently arrested. Daniels faces a host of charges including possession of meth/cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of a schedule I or II substance with intent to deliver, possession of a schedule VI substance with intent to deliver, tampering with evidence, obstructing governmental operations, failure to appear, and contempt of court due to unpaid fines, among others.
