Suspect Found with Narcotics Near Children During Parole Search, Arrested in Jonesboro

A suspect, who was searched during a parole search, was found to be in possession of narcotics near children, according to a police report in Jonesboro.

The incident took place at approximately 5:10 PM on June 16, as stated in the report by JPD. Jerome Sullivan, a 44-year-old resident of Stuttgart, was arrested at a hotel/motel during the incident. Police were initially dispatched to the 2500-block of South Caraway Road due to a welfare concern. During the search, authorities discovered 17.77 grams of methamphetamine and 4.75 grams of marijuana. Notably, the drugs were found in close proximity to three children aged 3, 4, and 7, as indicated in the report.

The charges against Sullivan include possession of methamphetamine, possession of a schedule VI substance, and endangering the welfare of a minor in the second degree. It is important to note that all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
