TRUMANN, Ark. — A suspect in an armed robbery at a Trumann tobacco store was arrested Tuesday in White County, according to the Trumann Police Department.
Willie Ray Jones was arrested on a warrant charging him with aggravated robbery after an investigation into a June 17 robbery at Smokes Tobacco Store, 1714 Highway 69 in Trumann.
According to a news release from Chief Doug Thomas, Trumann officers executed a search warrant Monday, June 22, at a residence on Viva Drive in Trumann. After the search, police obtained an arrest warrant for Jones, who police said lives at the same address.
On Tuesday, June 23, officers received information that Jones was in the Bald Knob area of White County. Trumann police forwarded the information to the Bald Knob Police Department, whose officers located Jones and took him into custody without incident, according to the release.
Jones was transported back to Trumann and is being held in the Trumann City Jail awaiting formal court proceedings.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

On June 17, 2026, officers with the Trumann Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at Smokes Tobacco Store, located at 1714 Highway 69 in Trumann.
As a result of the investigation, Trumann officers executed a search warrant on June 22, 2026, at a residence located at 15 Viva Drive in Trumann. Following the search, an arrest warrant was obtained for Willie Ray Jones, who resides at the same address, charging him with Aggravated Robbery.
On June 23, 2026, officers received information that Jones was in the Bald Knob area of White County. That information was immediately forwarded to the Bald Knob Police Department. Bald Knob officers quickly located Jones and took him into custody without incident.
Jones has since been transported to Trumann by Trumann Police Department officers and is currently being held in the Trumann City Jail awaiting formal court proceedings.
The Trumann Police Department would like to thank the Bald Knob Police Department for their assistance and cooperation in the apprehension of this suspect.
