
JONESBORO, Ark. – A domestic disturbance is alleged to have turned violent on Saturday, resulting in the arrest of a Jonesboro resident on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic acts, and battery, a police report said.
The incident occurred between 3:25 AM and 4:25 AM on May 20, 2023, in the 3600-block of School Street. Police responded to a call regarding a domestic disturbance with weapons. The report alleges that the suspect threatened the victim with a knife and subsequently assaulted her by striking her multiple times in the face. Police observed that the victim had swelling and bruising around her right eye.
The arrestee, Michael Jerome Rodgers, 27, of Jonesboro, was taken into custody. He now faces charges of aggravated assault on a family or household member and first-degree terroristic acts, both of which are felonies. Additionally, Rodgers is charged with misdemeanor third-degree battery. Jail records show he is also being held on a parole violation.
