Woman arrested for arson; Over $50,000 stolen from retirement account; More weekend reports released Monday by JPD

A suspect broke into a register and stole money at Comfort Suites, 3404 Access Road, sometime after 6 AM Friday morning.

An aggravated residential burglary reported just before noon Friday at the 3300-block of Race Street included a suspect busting a victim’s window out on a vehicle.

A break-in was reported at All Star Storage , 2100-block of E. Johnson, before noon Friday in Jonesboro.

A 56-year-old man was accused of sexual indecency with a child on Friday in a report dating back to as early as 2018.

A report on Friday in Jonesboro said a man learned $53,279 had been stolen from his retirement account.

A woman was arrested for allegedly stabbing a man with a knife early Saturday at the 3800-block of Turfway Drive in Jonesboro. Belinda Jordon, 39, was arrested.

A victim reported her vehicle stolen after she went to sleep early Saturday from the 400-block of S. Gee Street in Jonesboro. It is a black 2008 Nissan Altima.

A vehicle was reported stolen between 11 PM Friday and 9 AM Saturday from the 6000-block of Beaver Creek Lane. The vehicle was later found wrecked.

A vehicle theft was reported Saturday between 2 AM and 12:20 PM at the 1500-block of Arrowhead Farm Road. A black 2001 Audi coupe was taken.

An 80-year-old man was arrested after an automobile accident that involved possible significant head injury Saturday afternoon. Between 2 and 3 PM near Church and Alpine, an accident happened in which the arrestee, Lester Wingo, 80, of Jonesboro, allegedly struck a vehicle while his license was revoked. Charges included hazardous driving, no insurance and driving on a suspended/revoked license.

A report alleged that a 10-year-old female had sexual contact with a 5-year-old male between Friday and Saturday in Jonesboro. It was being investigated but all details were masked.

Another storage unit was discovered to have been broken into during a report filed Saturday. It happened as far back as 7/20 at the 1700-block of Tall Birch Drive.

A report alleged that a man punched, slapped, choked and dragged his child’s mother during an incident Saturday night before 9 PM at the Lexington Suites, 2900-block of Kazi.

A commercial burglary was reported early Sunday at the 2500-block of E. Nettleton Avenue where a suspect broke the window out of a phone store (Metro T-Mobile).

An arson case was being investigated Sunday evening in Jonesboro. At 4:52 PM at the 400-block of N. Bridge Street. Police believed a suspect burned down the home, although it wasn’t clear if it was intentional. Chasity Dillingham, 32, of Jonesboro, was arrested.

An 11-year-old girl reportedly attempted suicide by taking a grandparent’s medication, a report filed early Monday in Jonesboro said.

A suspect was arrested after drugs were found under the hood of the car during a traffic stop early Monday in Jonesboro. Shortly after 2 AM, the traffic stop happened near Union and Matthews over what police said was a ran red light. Police found $720 in suspected methamphetamine under the hood of the car in a plastic zip-lock baggie, along with various other items of paraphernalia and drugs. Joseph Arthur Tongusi, 49, was arrested for possession of meth with intent to deliver.

A report filed around 3 AM Monday at the 800-block of Arrowhead Farm Road alleged that a female suspect, an ex-spouse, struck a male victim, threatened him with pepper spray, and attempted to run him over. No arrests were made.

  1. Every type of crime and violence known to mankind in Jonesboro, taxes way higher than the national average already, cost of living higher than the national average and you people elected another damned yellow dog democrat as mayor. You’re getting the government you deserve.
