Man shot multiple times Friday night in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – Another shooting has happened in Jonesboro this week.

A short time before midnight, Jonesboro Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Melrose Street to reports of shots fired.

Officers quickly located a gunshot victim, a release said. De’marco Locust sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the leg, abdomen, and arm. JPD and ASU PD Officers applied a tourniquet and rendered aid until EMS arrived. Locust was taken to a local hospital and treated for his injuries. His condition was not mentioned in the release.

Witnesses told police they didn’t see anything and don’t know who the suspect might be. There are no known suspects at this time.

Meanwhile, the scene was taped off, the JPD Criminal Investigation Division was called and evidence was gathered.

Police are currently investigating.
