POCAHONTAS, Ark. – A driver was lucky to walk away unharmed after floodwaters swept his SUV off of a low-water bridge and into a floodway today in Pocahontas.

It happened around 12:30 PM Friday. Photos and information shared by Jeff Winebaugh showed the frightening situation up close.
The driver was going through a low-water bridge on Waddle Street when flood waters swept his vehicle into the waterway.
The vehicle was sent downstream from there, coming to rest under a bridge in the above photo at Pyburn Street.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and avoid injury.

Winebaugh, who runs a towing service, urged drivers to avoid driving through flood waters due to the risk.
