Burglars strip Jonesboro rent house

JONESBORO, Ark. – When a man returned to his rental house after being away, he found the home missing many valuable items in what must have taken burglars some time to pull off.

The report was made just after noon Tuesday with Jonesboro Police Department. Officers were dispatched to the 700-block of Creath Avenue. There, they met with a rental house owner who showed them what he had come to discover.

Between Sunday and Tuesday, burglars broke into a side window, the report details, and stole a number of items. A white Kenmore refrigerator, a wall-mounted gas heater, a Ryobi tile saw, a Milwaukee drill, a Dewalt trim saw and some scrap metal were all taken from the home.

On top of the stolen items, the homeowner was concerned there was considerable damage to the floor due to the water leaking out from the water line connected to the fridge.

Extra patrols were placed on the street and the case was reviewed by detectives Wednesday.

The suspects face felony residential burglary and felony theft charges for their misdeeds.

Another rental at the 1200-block of Haltom Street was reportedly broken into between Oct. 10 and Oct. 25. A back door was cracked open and a cabinet with glass doors and four boxes of tiles were stolen.

A home just a few houses away was also broken into, with a white GE microwave, a white GE stove and a white GE refrigerator all stolen. Fingerprints were recovered from the scene of this crime and sent to the crime lab.

If you can help authorities find those behind the break-ins, call Crimestoppers at 935-STOP.
