Suspect arrested after shooting leaves one dead in Jonesboro

Police were investigating a suspected homicide Saturday morning in Jonesboro. By the evening, an arrest was announced.

Robert Clark, 31-year old from Jonesboro, was arrested around 5:40 p.m. Saturday evening. He was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center under a First Degree Murder charge.

The shooting happened in the 200 block of Chesnut.

Dispatch was notified about shots heard in the area around 4:30a.m. When officers arrived, they located Xavier Malone, 30, inside his home deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

CID was notified and began their investigation.

The suspect is expected to go for his Probable Cause Hearing on Monday.
