(JPD Press Release)
Investigators are continuing to work diligently to garner additional evidence in the Sunday robbery of the Dollar Tree that resulted in the death of the store’s Assistant Manger Lori Pixler.
A store associate called 911 around 9:30 Sunday night and reported that the assistant manger had been kidnapped by an armed suspect after he confronted the two in the parking lot. The kidnapping victim was later found to have been struck by a vehicle along I555 and her vehicle, a black 2004 Hyundai Accent, was discovered in a ditch a few miles away off Hwy 14.
Investigators are continuing to follow up on a number of leads that are being received from various sources. They are also combing the area along the route taken by the suspect as he left the store with his victim for any possible evidence, witnesses or video surveillance. During the search, investigators have turned up a video that shows a vehicle driving through the parking lot of Dollar Tree during the time frame in which the robbery took place. At this time it is not certain if this vehicle may have been involved or may just have been in the vicinity and might possibly have information about the incident.
Investigators have been in contact with State Crime lab officials who have recovered some evidence from the vehicle and are continuing to examine it for additional evidence. The medical examiner’s office has also been in contact with investigators and we anticipate being able to release preliminary findings from the M.E’s office soon.
Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Jonesboro Police Department at 870-935-5657 or they can report his location anonymously through Crimestoppers by calling 870-935-STOP (7867).
