WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. — The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce has appointed Lake Charles State Park Superintendent Kendra Harris to its Board of Directors.
Harris will replace Taylor Heinen, who is resigning from the board effective June 18 after being promoted to branch manager of Regions Bank in Jonesboro. Harris will complete the remainder of Heinen’s term, which expires Dec. 31, 2027.
Harris has worked for Arkansas State Parks since 2002 and has served as a park superintendent since 2009. She currently oversees operations at Lake Charles State Park.
“The Chamber is fortunate to have community-minded leaders willing to serve,” board Chairman Cooper Smith said. “Kendra Harris has a strong reputation for investing in our area, and we are excited to have her join the board as we work together to strengthen our community.”
Harris said she looks forward to supporting Lawrence County’s business community and contributing to the county’s growth.
As superintendent, Harris has worked with local governments, businesses, tourism groups and community organizations on outdoor recreation and regional development efforts, according to the Chamber.
The Chamber also thanked Heinen for her work on the board.
“Taylor has been a tremendous advocate for the Chamber and our business community,” Executive Director Terrence Ward said. “While we are sad to see her leave the board, her promotion is well deserved, and we are grateful for the leadership she provided during an important period of growth for our organization.”
The Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors provides oversight and guidance for the organization’s business development, tourism and community initiatives.
