WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. — Lawrence County School District administrators investigated a report of a possible weapon inside a vehicle in a campus parking lot before school began Thursday, Oct. 8, according to a statement the district posted on Facebook.

The district said administrators took immediate action after receiving the report and addressed the situation according to handbook policy.

“At no time was there an immediate threat or danger to students or staff on campus,” the district said.

The statement did not identify the campus, confirm whether a weapon was found or specify what action was taken.

The district said student and staff safety remains its top priority and thanked parents and community members for their continued support.
