Job Fair Set for Oct. 20 in Walnut Ridge

A job fair Oct. 20 in Walnut Ridge will offer local job listings, computers and hands-on help with applications next to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

WALNUT RIDGE, Ark. — Arkansas Workforce Connections, Lawrence Healthcare and the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce will partner for a job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 1217 W. Main St., next to Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

The Arkansas Workforce Connections Mobile Workforce Center will be on-site with computers, internet access and staff to help job seekers explore available positions and complete applications.

The chamber is gathering job openings from its members to list on its online Jobs Board and share during the event, providing local employers another way to connect with potential applicants.

“Helping employers find workers and helping residents find opportunities are both part of building a stronger local economy,” said Terrence Ward, executive director of the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce. “This event brings job listings, technology and hands-on assistance together so people can take that next step.”

Chamber members with open positions are encouraged to submit job descriptions and application instructions to the chamber for inclusion.

For more information about the job fair or to share job openings, contact Kelly Aaron at 870-930-2164 or kelly.aaron@arkansas.gov.
