Woman Accused of Stealing Seven Packages of Steaks After Being Banned From Jonesboro Store

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Forrest City woman is accused of stealing more than $285 worth of steaks from a Jonesboro business she had previously been banned from entering.

Dranisha Marshal Coulter, 36, was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary, a Class C felony, and felony theft of property valued at $1,000 or less.

Jonesboro police responded June 11 to a local business regarding a reported shoplifting incident, according to a probable cause affidavit.

A loss prevention employee told officers that Coulter and another person were seen concealing food inside their purses before fleeing the business.

Surveillance footage allegedly showed Coulter placing seven packages of steaks, valued at $285.54, inside a purse and leaving without paying.

When store employees confronted the pair, the other person fled on foot while Coulter complied and accompanied an employee to the asset protection office, the affidavit states.

Store records showed Coulter had been criminally banned from the business on Feb. 24, 2024, according to police. Because she allegedly entered the business despite the ban and committed a theft, she was arrested on the commercial burglary charge.

Coulter was taken to the Craighead County Detention Center. Her bond was set at $35,000 cash or surety, and her next court date is July 30.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
