PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould suspect was arrested after police said he was found slumped over train tracks and later spat on an officer while being placed in a patrol car.
Ronald Boene, 22, of Paragould, was arrested after Paragould officers responded May 21 to the 200 block of Landrum Lane regarding someone yelling on the train tracks, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Officers located Boene slumped over the tracks. Police said he was unsteady on his feet and officers could smell an odor of intoxicants coming from him.
The affidavit states Boene refused to give officers his name during the investigation. Officers then arrested him for criminal trespass, obstructing governmental operations and public intoxication.
While officers were placing Boene inside a patrol car, police said he spat on an officer, striking him on the left side of the face.
Boene was arrested on charges of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer, a Class D felony; criminal trespass, obstructing governmental operations and public intoxication, all Class C misdemeanors.
Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety by Judge Curtis Hitt. A no-contact order was issued, along with an order prohibiting weapons possession and requiring an ankle monitor.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
