JONESBORO, Ark. — Two people have been arrested after police say a domestic altercation in Jonesboro escalated into threats with knives and a physical assault.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Jonesboro police responded Sept. 21 to the 1800 block of Kendal Street. A victim reported that Trenidy Allen, 20, of Jonesboro, entered a bedroom in an aggressive manner while wielding two knives. The victim said Allen was verbally threatening while displaying the weapons.
A witness managed to take the knives from Allen, but she allegedly began physically assaulting the victim. As the victim attempted to defend himself, Marcus Williams, 43, of Gilmore, entered the room, sided with Allen, and struck the victim in the face while holding a knife. Officers noted the victim sustained minor cuts to his hands during the fight.
Police said a witness eventually separated the parties, and officers later recovered two knives from the residence that the victim identified as the weapons used in the incident.
Allen was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault on a family or household member, a Class D felony. Williams was arrested on a charge of aggravated assault, also a Class D felony.
District Judge David Boling set bail for both defendants at $25,000 cash or surety. Their next court date is scheduled for Oct. 30.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
