Craighead County Community Foundation Awards $48,500 in Grant Dollars for Local Non-Profits

JONESBORO, Ark. — Fourteen nonprofit organizations in Craighead County have been awarded a combined $48,500 through the Craighead County Community Foundation’s 2025 Giving Tree Grant cycle.

The foundation announced the awards with an emphasis on supporting projects that address food insecurity and promote early literacy, a press release said.

Founded in 2001, the Craighead County Community Foundation works to improve the quality of life across the county by connecting local philanthropists, donors, and fundholders with community needs. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $994,000 in grants and today manages $14.5 million in endowments across 114 funds.

Grant priorities are guided by data reporting through Aspire Arkansas, which identifies the most pressing needs in the state. The CCCF board uses this data to focus resources on issues such as food insecurity and early literacy, two of the most urgent challenges in the county.

The 2025 Giving Tree Grant recipients are:

  • Altrusa International of Jonesboro — $3,000
  • Arkansas Imagination Library — $5,000
  • Imagine Arkansas — $1,000
  • New Life Empowerment Development Center — $3,000
  • Riverside West Elementary — $5,000
  • Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry — $5,000
  • Brookland Elementary School — $5,000

  • Provision 88 Food Ministry — $5,000
  • St. Bernards Development Foundation — $4,000

Since launching the Giving Tree program, the foundation has directed annual grant cycles to meet community needs identified through data and local feedback.

“The generosity of our fundholders and philanthropists allows us to continue this work year after year,” the foundation said in its announcement.
