JONESBORO, Ark. — A suspect was arrested after police said a woman reported being choked, threatened and held down during a domestic incident.
Asher Kai Revel, 18, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree kidnapping/false imprisonment, a Class C felony; first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class D felony; aggravated assault on a family or household member, a Class D felony; and third-degree domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Jonesboro officers responded May 31, 2026, to an address on Caribbean Drive in reference to a domestic disturbance. Officers made contact with the alleged victim, who said she had come home from Bentonville that week to visit family and had been seeing Revel for about five days.
The victim told officers Revel texted her around 7 a.m. that morning to come to his house. When she arrived, she said he appeared to be under the influence, according to the affidavit.
The victim said Revel began being mean to her and told her how much he hated her. She reported that Revel slapped her in the face a couple of times and threw her onto a bed.
At one point, the victim said she tried to leave the residence, but Revel grabbed her throat and sat on top of her, according to the affidavit. She told officers that while she was being choked, there were several times she could not breathe.
When she was let go, Revel told her that if she tried to leave, he would “blow her head off” and his own, according to the affidavit. The victim also began to throw up.
The victim told officers she had left her phone in her vehicle when she went inside the house because Revel had broken multiple other phones in the past, meaning she had no way to call for help.
The victim was able to leave around 2 p.m. after Revel fell asleep, according to the affidavit. Officers documented redness behind her ear, and she said her jaw felt swollen from where Revel had grabbed her and held her down by the face and throat.
Officers later made contact with Revel at his residence. He was taken into custody and transported to the Craighead County Detention Center.
Revel’s next court date is July 30. Bail was set by District Judge David Boling at $50,000 cash or surety.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
