JONESBORO, Ark. — A woman was arrested after police said officers found a shotgun she was not allowed to possess during a traffic stop.
Rachelle Leigh Drum was arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm by certain persons, a Class D felony; improper lane change; and improper window tint.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Jonesboro officers conducted a traffic stop May 29, 2026, on a passenger vehicle for a traffic violation and dark tint. Officers said they could not see inside the vehicle using a flashlight.
The driver was identified as Drum, and an adult male passenger was also identified, according to the affidavit. Both were removed from the vehicle, and a K-9 was deployed, resulting in a positive alert.
Officers then located a shotgun behind the back seats of the vehicle, the affidavit states. Police said they also discovered Drum had a past felony conviction, and she was taken into custody.
Officers documented that the front passenger window tint tested at 7%.
Drum’s next court date is July 30. Bail was set by District Judge David Boling at $5,000 cash or surety.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
