Two Men Arrested in Separate Child Exploitation Cases

JONESBORO, Ark. — Two men have been arrested in separate child exploitation investigations following reports of suspected child sexual abuse material found on electronic devices, authorities said. Both arrests followed investigations by the JPD Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) division.

Steven Speirs was arrested Monday after police executed a search warrant at his residence in Jonesboro and seized multiple electronic devices. The investigation began April 29 when a home health nurse contacted law enforcement, reporting that she had discovered suspicious images on a client’s computer. Detectives said a forensic search of Speirs’ devices uncovered 10 original files that appeared to show minors in sexually explicit content.

Speirs was arrested and is accused of possession or use of child sexual abuse material. Judge David Boling set bail at $1 million, cash or surety.

The second arrest occurred on Tuesday. Robert Hill was taken into custody following an investigation. Police said the case began April 15 when the Arkansas State Police ICAC Unit received a cybertip involving an account suspected of uploading child sexual abuse material. Investigators said two email addresses tied to the account were linked to Hill.

A search uncovered 12 videos showing minors engaged in sexual acts with adults, according to police. Hill is also accused of possession or use of child sexual abuse material. His bond was set at $250,000, cash or surety.
