PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould man was arrested Thursday after police responded to a reported domestic disturbance and found him allegedly fighting with his pregnant girlfriend.
Officers with the Paragould Police Department were called to the 600 block of W. Locust Street on May 1 for a disturbance in progress. According to the probable cause affidavit, police arrived to find Nicholas McClenton, 19, and the alleged victim physically fighting.
A witness at the scene told officers that McClenton had picked up the alleged victim and slammed her onto the ground. Police confirmed the alleged victim is pregnant.
McClenton was arrested and charged with third-degree domestic battery, a Class D felony.
Judge Dan Stidham set his bond at $10,000 cash only. Conditions of release include a no-contact order with the alleged victim and a prohibition on possessing weapons.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
