Paragould Man Faces Charge of Solicitation of Minor

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man is accused of a serious Class A felony involving conduct considered solicitation, with a minor as the alleged victim.

On Jan. 25, 2025, a report was filed with the Paragould Police Department accusing Tony Melton of attempting to engage a child in sexually explicit conduct for use in visual or print media, according to the probable cause affidavit.

Detectives collected evidence. They interviewed Melton. After waiving his Miranda rights, the affidavit says he advised detectives he did in fact attempt to conduct the alleged activity.

Tony Melton, 41, faces a charge of criminal solicitation, a Class A felony.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
