Jonesboro Suspect Accused in Dispensary Burglary, Stolen Vehicle Case

JONESBORO, Ark. — A stolen vehicle, a dispensary with windows shot out, and a convenience store burglary are all believed to be tied together in a series of crimes under investigation in Jonesboro. As of Wednesday afternoon, an arrest has been made.

Hunter Taylor, 19, of Jonesboro, was arrested after Jonesboro police investigated the incidents, according to a probable cause affidavit.

The investigation began at the Vault, a cannabis dispensary in Jonesboro. Police said the front glass door, an interior glass door, and a glass counter were shattered. Surveillance video showed a suspect walking around the outside of the building before gaining entry by shooting the front glass door with a firearm, the affidavit states.

The suspect then shot an interior glass door before entering the sales area, where police said he shot a glass cabinet and took multiple display packages from the cabinet before leaving. Police said the suspect then entered a vehicle parked behind a nearby pharmacy.

The suspect was wearing a black Adidas hoodie, gray pants, a ski-style face mask, and neon yellow-green gloves, according to the affidavit.

Police said the same suspect was seen earlier that morning, at about 4:20 a.m., wearing the same clothing and driving the stolen vehicle. The suspect allegedly shot out a window at a business on Gee Street and stole $273.93 in merchandise, including cigarettes and vapes. Police said he was wearing black Hey Dude shoes with white soles.

Surveillance video also showed the same suspect wearing the same clothing while attempting to shoot out the window of The Medicine Shoppe on Southwest Drive at about 3:36 a.m., the affidavit states. The suspect was seen with a black and blue bag.

The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned on the northbound on-ramp of I-555 from Harrisburg Road. Police said surveillance video showed the suspect walking west on Windover Road before removing a hoodie in a clearing. Police recovered the hoodie, which detectives said was identical to the one worn in the burglaries.

On April 29, 2026, police received an anonymous tip naming Taylor as the suspect, according to the affidavit. Police said Taylor showed to be on parole and to have prior arrests for burglary and theft.

A probation search was conducted at Taylor’s residence, which he shared with his aunt and uncle, the affidavit states. Police said they found a black and blue bag matching the one seen on surveillance video, black Hey Dude shoes with white soles matching those used in the burglaries, a box of disposable neon green gloves and a black Adidas hoodie.

Taylor’s aunt told detectives he was growing a marijuana plant outside on the back deck, but when she told him to dispose of it, the plant was moved to another pot instead, according to the affidavit.

Taylor is accused of possession of a firearm by certain persons/prior violent felony with a deadly weapon/firearm used in another offense, a Class B felony; two counts of commercial burglary, Class C felonies; theft of a vehicle valued at less than $25,000 but greater than $5,000, a Class C felony; first-degree criminal mischief involving property valued at more than $5,000 but less than $25,000, a Class C felony; criminal attempt, a Class D felony; theft of $1,000 or less from a building, second offense, a Class D felony; manufacture of a Schedule VI controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor; and five counts of discharging firearms within city limits, listed as municipal ordinance violations.

District Judge Tommy Fowler set Taylor’s bail at $50,000 cash only, meaning the full amount must be posted for release. The judge noted the suspect is on parole and has a history of theft.

Taylor’s next court date is June 26.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The first report was made around 4:20 AM on April 21, 2026, when police responded to a glass-break alarm at Gee Street Market, 520 S. Gee Street.

The report stated that a suspect shot the glass out of the front door.

Authorities believe a 9mm was used to shoot the glass out. The suspect stole Newport cigarettes, a box of Pom Poms, and Vuse Pods.

The vehicle involved was a newer-model blue Kia Sportage. The suspect is described as around 6’2″, 180 pounds, with a slender build and light complexion. He appeared to be right-handed.

It was a short time later that the second report began, when police responded to a burglary alarm at The Vault, 1707 Visions Avenue in Jonesboro.

A glass break at the front door was observed by the patrol officer responding. The report says a suspect shot out the window to gain entry.

The report lists a theft as being committed, but does not specifically state what was taken.

Once again, the blue Kia Sportage was reported at the scene.

Shortly before 10 AM, a third police report was made, this time by the owner of the Kia Sportage, reporting it stolen.

Police say the vehicle was found on the northbound ramp from Harrisburg Road to I-555. Officers found a Pom Pom box and a package of cannabis, consistent with the items stolen, the report says.
