Suspect Wanted After Farm Service Fuel Truck Stolen, Recovered in Hoxie

HOXIE, Ark. — A theft of a vehicle from a business was thwarted by police in Hoxie, who are still searching for the suspect.

On Wednesday, Nov. 13, Officer Charles Adams with the Hoxie Police Department responded to a diesel mechanic shop off Highway 63, according to a release from the police department. The officer met with the shop owner and Farm Service manager about a Farm Service fuel truck that was stolen Tuesday evening from the shop parking lot.

Officer Adams reviewed the camera footage and collected all the necessary information to quickly get a BOLO issued for the stolen fuel truck. With a suspected direction of travel, investigators quickly went to work contacting surrounding agencies that they knew had license plate readers and cameras. Police were met with no luck.

On Saturday, Nov. 16, a trooper with Arkansas State Police located the stolen truck abandoned in Jacksonville, Arkansas. The owners were notified.

The Hoxie Police Department is still working to identify the suspect involved in the theft.

Police released several images to NEA Report. Although the images are low resolution, authorities hope it might bring them more information.
