PARAGOULD, Ark. – A Missouri woman is facing a felony charge after she is alleged to have stolen two PS5s in Paragould.
On June 8, 2024, the Paragould Police Department responded to Walmart in reference to a theft incident. Officers arrived and were shown video of the suspect and a male removing two PlayStation 5 consoles from a case.
The probable cause affidavit says that the two attempted to exit the store without paying for them or other merchandise that was valued in excess of $1,000.
Theft of property, greater than $1,000 but less than $5,000 is a class D felony in Arkansas.
Perla Valdez, 42, of Senath, MO, was arrested for felony theft of property. She was transported to the Greene County Jail. On Monday, Judge Dan Stidham set her bond at $10,000 cash or surety with the defendant ordered to have no contact with any Walmart store.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Note: A male subject is mentioned in the PC affidavit but no affidavit has been released on him as of this report.

I read about a lot of arrests of people in places other than where they live, sometimes going from Jonesboro to small towns like Hoxie or Pocahontas, or from Missouri or Memphis here in Jonesboro or Paragould. Some seems rather oragnized.
