JONESBORO, Ark. – A police report alleges two suspects deposited over $8,000 in forged checks and then spent the money credited to their accounts recently in Jonesboro.
Between Dec. 15 and Dec. 18, six checks were deposited into accounts at First National Bank, 3500 E. Johnson Avenue in Jonesboro, the police report from the Jonesboro Police Department says. The check totals were as follows:
- $1,349
- $1,357
- $1,374
- $1,423
- $1,389
- $1,469
In total, $8,361 was credited to the accounts of the suspects. The report says the suspects then spent the money.
The suspects are identified as a 38-year-old black female and a 20-year-old black female. All other information in the report is masked. Law enforcement officials were furnished with a thumb drive containing images of the suspects, as detailed in the report.
Both individuals are currently facing felony charges including second-degree forgery and theft exceeding $5,000 but falling below $25,000.
Authorities are actively investigating the case.
