MORRILTON, Ark. — A former Conway County sheriff’s deputy was sentenced to 22 years in state prison after pleading guilty to raping a minor.
Joseph Taylor Dube, 34, entered a negotiated guilty plea Wednesday, Aug. 12, to one count of rape, according to Arkansas State Police and court records.
Dube received a 30-year sentence, with eight years suspended, leaving 22 years to serve in the Arkansas Division of Correction. He received credit for 499 days already served.
As part of the plea agreement, prosecutors dismissed two counts of second-degree sexual assault and one count of sexual grooming of a child.
Arkansas State Police began investigating Dube on March 22, 2025, at the request of the Conway County Sheriff’s Office after authorities received a report alleging he had sexually abused a minor. Special agents with the agency’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested Dube following the investigation.
Dube must register as a sex offender and have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family. He was also ordered to pay court costs and several fees, including a $100 child advocate fee.
