JONESBORO, Ark. – A meeting for the public to learn about a Capital Improvement Plan to cover safety, recreation and infrastructure for the next three to five years in the City of Jonesboro will be held 4:30-6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, in the lobby of the Municipal Center, 300 S. Church St.
The meeting will be “open house” style, so visitors can come and go as they please, view displays and speak with City staff and experts in the various areas of design.
Mayor Harold Copenhaver’s administration plans to use $40 million – including $17.5 million in revenue bonds, $8 million held from American Rescue Plan Act funding, and $15 million-plus from a combination of City reserves and anticipated revenue over the next three budget cycles – to perform needed upgrades and desired facilities and recreation spaces of residents.
A broad outline of the proposals is currently going through City Council, and if approved will become priority projects over a three- to five-year period.
