Domestic Disturbance Leads to Alleged Choking Incident Involving 60-Year-Old Jonesboro Woman

JONESBORO, Ark. — A distressing police report has emerged, suggesting that a domestic disturbance between a 60-year-old Jonesboro woman and her boyfriend escalated to a point where she was allegedly choked into unconsciousness.

The incident is said to have occurred between 1 PM and 2 PM on October 6, taking place at the 2600-block of Cottonwood Street. The victim, a 60-year-old woman, was transported to NEA Baptist Regional Medical Center, where she conveyed complaints of severe neck pain attributed to being choked by the suspect. She also reported experiencing back pain from alleged physical strikes by the same individual. During the altercation, the report indicates that she lost consciousness.

The report identifies the suspect as a 73-year-old black male, involved in a romantic relationship with the victim. Law enforcement authorities were promptly notified and responded to the hospital to initiate the investigation.

While no arrests have been reported as of yet, the suspect could potentially face charges of first-degree terroristic threatening and domestic battery in the third degree, given the allegations of causing unconsciousness.
