Child Arrives at School With Injuries, Jonesboro Suspect Arrested

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro woman was arrested after police said a child appeared at school with injuries consistent with alleged abuse.

Kyndra Hunter, 28, of Jonesboro, was arrested May 1 on a charge of second-degree domestic battery, a Class C felony punishable by three to 10 years in prison.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Jonesboro police responded May 1 to Fox Meadow School after a child came to school with injuries that occurred in the home. A detective reported seeing multiple bruises on the child, including a bruise about the size of a baseball on one shoulder blade and another area on the child’s back.

The child told police the injuries happened when he was hit on the back with a wooden brush and dragged from the bed before being hit with a hand and closed fist, according to the affidavit.

Hunter is also facing a Class C felony failure to appear case tied to an original offense of theft of property, greater than $1,000 but less than $5,000.

Judge David Boling set bond at $50,000 cash or surety, to run concurrent in both cases.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
